Job Description

The RSVP (Relationship & Sexual Violence Prevention) Center Education Coordinator will develop and implement programs, coordinate data collection and assessment on initiatives within the center that contribute to the sense of belonging and community, academic, social, and personal development, educational, cultural, and leadership development.
The ideal candidate would possess strong analytical skills, capacity to respond well to persons in distress, ability to work in an autonomous environment, discretion and sound judgment. This professional is someone who will provide support and guidance to various students in the RSVP Center. Their work should contribute to a healthy campus community that actively encourages and supports all students to learn and grow academically, socially and emotionally through identity and gender-based violence prevention initiatives related to healthy relationships, effective communication, bystander action, and support for survivors.
The Education Coordinator position is a twelve-month, full-time position. Supervision is provided by the RSVP Center Assistant Director. Some weekends and evenings required.

Duties of this potion include, but not limited to, the following:
– Collaborate with staff, faculty, and students to develop and implement educational programs to create an inclusive community and enhance education surrounding interpersonal (identity and gender based) violence and bystander intervention.
– Create customized trainings on interpersonal (identity and gender based) violence, intersectionality of interpersonal violence, bystander intervention and other related topics for faculty, students, and staff as requested when appropriate.
– Provide trainings, workshops, and group series on healthy relationship promotion topics for students and colleagues focused on interpersonal (identity and gender based) violence, intersectionality of interpersonal violence, and creating welcoming and inclusive environments.
– Establish ongoing relationships with student organizations and specialized campus populations to coordinate programming and advise student groups engaged in interpersonal (identity and gender based) violence prevention.
– Recruit, train, and supervise relevant undergraduate students, graduate students and interns assigned to the RSVP Center.
– Assist in the preparation and distribution of informational and marketing materials regarding center events, opportunities, and schedules available at the RSVP Center.
– Help maintain RSVP Center and related websites, social media and other media outlets.
– Conduct assessment to measure and evaluate RSVP Center educational initiatives and utilize assessment data to enhance the services provided by the RSVP Center.
– Collaborate with the Assistant Director to develop an end of the year report on accomplishments and recommendations for the program and campus/community program stakeholders including program planning, learning outcomes and program evaluation
– Serve on and assist in the leadership of local, state and University-wide committees, as appropriate.
– Demonstrate and maintain professional boundaries in working with students and colleagues. Provide (as needed) direct, in-person and virtual crisis intervention, case management and advocacy services for victims/survivors of identity and gender based violence and the people supporting those individuals. Not primary responsibility, but need could arise.
– Assist with additional routine and daily functions of the RSVP Center as needed.
– Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications
• A master’s degree in social work, psychology, educational leadership, college student development, or college personnel management.
• 2 years of experience working with trauma informed practices and/or underrepresented groups on a college campus; including program planning and implementation.
• Hold National Advocate Credentialing Program certification or willing to obtain one within 9 months of employment.
• Experience and comfortability working with topics such as sexual assault, intimate partner violence, stalking, sexual harassment, rape culture, bias, discrimination, oppression, and the intersection of all the above.
• Previous experience supporting and working with underserved and underrepresented clients; including but not limited to underrepresented races, ethnicities, genders, sexualities, ability statuses, religions, and cultures.
• Cultural competence and knowledge for developing and facilitating trainings on diversity, social justice, unconscious bias, bystander intervention and other related topics.
• Ability to build positive and collaborative working relationships with faculty, staff, and students.
• Knowledge and application of higher education research and best practices from college student development theory and student success
